There’s No Stopping Us Now – Comapring The 2019 Honda HR-V in Coon Rapids

August 8th, 2019 by

Taking over Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Boulevard once more is Rapids Honda, but this time we’re flaunting the 2019 Honda HR-V in Coon Rapids. Compared to the Toyota C-HR, it surpasses with more features than you might realize, but ’we’ll let you draw your conclusions after reading these specs…

The way a vehicle handles can make a big difference in your daily drive; it can even affect the driver physically! Thankfully, the HR-V is constructed in a way to be more efficient and easier to handle. The first key is cornering force; the cornering force is the measurement of force applied to a vehicle’s center of gravity and is measured in G’s. The higher the G’s are, the more cornering power is available to the driver. In a skidpad test conducted by Car and Driver, the HR-V EX-L AWD handles at .84 G’s while the C-HR Limited only pulls .81 G’s of cornering force. With handling, this is defined as how well a vehicle responds to its driver, and the HR-V advances in this as well. Weighing about 150-400 pounds lighter, this Honda can accelerate and handle better than the Toyota.

Since you’re interested in buying a crossover SUV, we can assume that you’re looking for a vehicle that can fit more than just yourself and a few friends. The HR-V has a higher passenger volume of 100.1 cubic feet (vs. 83.8), so you and four other friends can sit back comfortably without feeling cramped. The rear seats also recline for those sitting in the back of the HR-V, making those long trips not so tedious. The CH-R’s rear seats don’t recline, and the lack of extra head, shoulder, leg, and hip room can have your passengers feeling claustrophobic. If you don’t need the extra room for friends, but instead for your gear or maybe even car camping, the HR-V can handle that too. With the rear seat up, it has a much larger cargo area than the C-HR (24.3 vs. 19 cubic feet), and with it down, that expands to a whopping 58.8 cubic feet while the C-HR falls short at around 36.4 cubic feet.

One of the most tedious things about owning a vehicle is keeping up with the maintenance schedule. Each make and model varies slightly in when to have certain services done like oil and filter changes, spark plug replacements, and more. But when you choose to become part of the Honda family, all of those little stresses melt away because the HR-V comes with Maintenance Minder. This feature calculates maintenance intervals based on your actual driving conditions. By taking all of the guesswork out, you can drive confidently knowing that your HR-V is always in top-notch condition. Toyota doesn’t offer this nifty little feature, so you’ll have to research and calculate all of those service due dates yourself.
